I am Mariangela—also known as “Maria” by some—and I am the Founder and Managing Director of Mariangela’s English Services. I am a passionate English teacher dedicated to helping students achieve their goals. Here at Mariangela’s English Services, we offer creative courses, including English Through Art and Music and customized test prep, empowering learners to communicate confidently and thrive academically or professionally.
More About the Founder and Managing Director of Mariangela's English Services
As you probably know by now, I am Mariangela, the Founder and Managing Director of Mariangela’s English Services. I was born and raised in the United States, where I have completed all my education. Having been raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, I have a bit of a (toned down) Philly accent and grew up in a bilingual English / Greek-speaking household.
I am a trained English language teacher, examiner for one of the world’s most reputable English proficiency exams, and academic editor / copyeditor with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature / Secondary Education and a Master’s degree from Temple University’s high-ranking Graduate Department of Education in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology in Education.
I possess vast experience teaching English to various populations (immigrants, refugees, international students, and professionals of all ages and backgrounds) in the United States, Europe, and online and have taught at a number of Philadelphia-area universities, colleges, and adult education centers, as well as The Philadelphia School District—elementary through high school. I can proudly say I have had the absolute honor of working with students from over 60 different countries and from every corner of the world from whom I have also learned a tremendous amount.
Aside from the incredible Philly lingo, which I can of course share with you, as well, I deliver superior quality English instruction based on proven, research-driven methods and grounded in neuro-linguistic training with maximum student talking time and engagement so that you are actually using your English and gaining autonomy from our very first lesson together.
